Air Pollution Risk
نویسنده
چکیده
This article reviews the literature on health effects of air pollution, with a primary focus on time series studies but also covering prospective studies and case-crossover designs. It also covers some of the controversies created by these studies and concludes with a brief review of air pollution standards in the U.S.

Pmn-18: The Effect of Ambient Air Pollution on Infertility
Development disorders may be arisen from the unavoidable maternal exposure to particulate air pollution during the prenatal life that can be affected not only periconceptional period but also postnatal life. A kind of chemical material categorized as air pollutants are present in the urine, blood and semen of exposed men and may decline sperm count and affect sperm quality. Environment toxic ca...
متن کاملTobacco Smoke, Indoor Air Pollution and Tuberculosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
BACKGROUND Tobacco smoking, passive smoking, and indoor air pollution from biomass fuels have been implicated as risk factors for tuberculosis (TB) infection, disease, and death. Tobacco smoking and indoor air pollution are persistent or growing exposures in regions where TB poses a major health risk. We undertook a systematic review and meta-analysis to quantitatively assess the association be...
متن کاملAir pollution and vulnerability: solving the puzzle of prioritization.
While ambient air pollution levels in excess of prescribed health standards are generally unacceptable, the exceedance is even more serious in areas where people reside. Vulnerability caused by poverty, disease, lack of education, and poor living conditions exacerbates the problem. Air quality management plans identify prioritized strategies for improved air quality independent of consideration...
متن کاملA Bayesian hierarchical distributed lag model for estimating the time course of hospitalization risk associated with particulate matter air pollution
Time series studies have provided strong evidence of an association between increased levels of ambient air pollution and increased hospitalizations, typically at a single lag of 0, 1, or 2 days after an air pollution episode. Two important scientific objectives are to better understand how the risk of hospitalization associated with a given day’s air pollution increase is distributed over mult...

Introduction: Although epidemiological studies have reported an association between smoking and increases in tuberculosis the , relationship between indoor air pollution and risk of tuberculosis is not fully understood. A limited number of studies have suggested that smoking and indoor air pollution may play a role in the pathogenesis of tuberculosis. In this study, we investigated the effect o...
